Forget-me-not repeat pattern details

This is a an artwork I made for a charity auction to be held in August 2019 in aid of Waveney and Blyth Arts, for which I am a member. The piece was postard sized and was also created for my alphabet project. I hand drew the Forget-me-not flowers with pencil, fineliner pens and Sharpie markers. to create an alternative version I scanned the piece and inverted the colours in Photoshop. The Forget-me-not is one of my favourite flowers!

I’ve been working away at the letter ‘D’ for my alphabet project and come up with these studies based on dogs with diamonds and daisies. You may have guessed that I am referencing David Bowie here!

Blossom and Bumble Bee repeat pattern

Continuing with my A-Z project and an exhibtion with the theme of Bugs and Blossom which is coming up later in the year, I have made this hand drawn pattern based on bramble blossom and bumble bees. Here I have shown the design in 3 colourways and an 2 invert versions which I rather like!!

I decided to create another ammonite repeat as I feel the pieces below are a little too simple. I am happier wth the result and like the way the drawings work on the background colour.

X for Xmas repeat pattern

Merry Xmas everyone! I have made this hand drawn repeat pattern and added a black background in Photoshop. Snow flakes with a Posca marker add to the winter feel!
H for Hares mixed media collage

This is a new mixed media collage called “Happy Hares”. I created the piece for an exhibition at the Ferini Gallery which ran from September to October of this year. I used different painting techniques on paper, fabric hexagons and cutouts of hares and hexagons.
M for Moth repeat patterns

I have created a moth for the letter ‘M’ in my alphabet project by making a lino print with added collage details. Then I have experimented with the moth cut out to make a repeat pattern in Photoshop.
