Today I have finished the 5 coloured hearts, by adding some more painted details and appling the polymer clay bases. 4 of them will become brooch’s, which you can buy on the jewellery page!

I have been working on more complex patterns in Photoshop. This sample shows how they contrast well on a black background.

Here are samples from the digital design stage using my felt pieces. In Photoshop, I have cut out the shapes, then created duplicate layers to create the complex motif. The smaller I size the motif, the more I feel it looks like authentic glass millefiori paper weights from my collection. This motif will appear of more my designed prints, cards, jewellery and fabrics.

This is a scanned image of some felt “millefiori” I have been making.  I am going to use them for motifs in some digital fabric I am going to have printed. I will show you how I have used them in Photoshop soon!

I also having been painting background colours onto white cotton then cutting out heart shapes. These are not quite finished yet. I want to add some green leaves onto 4 of them. The hearts will end up as brooches and pendants.

I have finished the fabric painting stage and these are how they look cut out and applied onto the polymer clay heart bases. You can see that 2 hearts have a bail attached and the one raised up abit has a brooch pin fitted on the back, these 3 are for my friend and the others will appear on the Jewellery page soon!

This image is of a new piece of work I am making for a friend. She would like a heart brooch and two heart pendants.  You can see the heart outlines in pencil. I need to add some extra detail, then I will cut the hearts out.
